SHOE TRENDS SS2018

SS18 saw the catwalks, full of a plethora of footwear from the sublime to the ridiculous. From the beautiful feather adorned Saint Laurent sandals, the joyous and colorful Balenciaga boots to Rick Owens half back pack, half tire tread monstrosities. The jewel encrusted, Cinderella shoes of Dolce and Gabbana had Alexander Mc Queens utilitarian inspired buckled boots and Calvin Klein’s blood splattered courts hot on their tails down the runways.

A confectioners dream of pastel hues, from designers such as Victoria Beckham and Missoni were followed by Tom Fords and Dries Von Notens summer brights.  A big trend this year is transparent footwear, many designers from Chanel to Alexander Wang featuring transparent features and Perspex heels in courts, sandals and boot designs.

There really is something for everyone in SS18, the varying heel heights from kitten to block to skyscraper. The beautifully embellished to the minimal classics courts, the designers covered all angles

Pastel Dreams

Ice cream pastels are a sweet addition to the spring looks for 2018 on the high streets in every style from sneakers to boots. Pair with a pastel suit and mix up these ice cream shades.

The Barely There Trend

We love this look as it can be worn with everything from a cocktail dress to jeans. Leg lengthening and very flattering  The barely there sandal can be seen in a myriad of textiles and colours from pastel yellow velvet to metallic pink.

The Western Boot

The cowboy boot is huge for this summer and can be worn with jeans and dresses . We both love this look and have chatted about whether we would !!!!The answer is a definite yes! This look is a cool trend, that can be rocked by every age group, not just the youngsters  .

Bold Bright’s

Welcome to a season of bold bright colours eye-popping pink zingy yellow are leafy green .This season is all about mixing  bold colours and prints. Mixing red with fuchsia, neon yellow with vivid purple, clash those colours and give your outfits that extra wow. Using a shoe to add that colour to your outfit is a safe way to head into this seasons trend .

Mules

Mules were trotting down the catwalk in all forms for Spring Summer. Flats, block heels, kittens, stiletto in suede, tweed and leopard  the list goes on. You name it they muled it. A mule this season for every outfit.

The White Boot

Taking us back to the 80’s THE WHITE BOOT is back. Not for the faint hearted, the white boot is quite a statement. Sharkey and Duff will be wearing ours as you would a black ankle boots , with jeans or a dress. Try and keep the rest of your outfit pared right back, so as not to look like you’re in a 1980,s tribute band.

Cinderella Shoes

Embellishments are a big trend everything from feathers to ribbons, crystals and glitter. This was very apparent on many catwalks for SS18. You don’t need to be going to the ball to wear these beauties, slip them on with your jeans to add a little magic to your look.
